Description

Ice bathing and ice hole drilling: Workshop

This workshop is aimed at anyone who already has experience of winter swimming and would like to delve deeper into the mental and physical aspects. In the vastness and tranquillity of nature, you will feel the power of the cold and learn to experience yourself in a new way. Our exercises will help you to strengthen your resilience and experience the cold as an opportunity for inner strength – always with the aim of approaching your limits safely and mindfully.

What you can expect:

Preparation and theory – Gain in-depth insights into the physiological processes involved in ice bathing, including hypothermia and afterdrop. For preparation, we recommend the book Eiskalt Schwimmen by Jeannette Stangier-Bors, which offers valuable tips on preparation, follow-up and accident prevention.

Breathing and mental techniques – Learn specific techniques that prepare you mentally and physically for the cold. These will help you to stay focused and calm and to be aware of your body’s resilience.

Immerse yourself in nature – Experience the magic of the ice-covered lake as a place of power. With mindfulness and devotion, we dive into the cold in a controlled manner and find peace and inner focus in nature.

Reflection and exchange – Each day of the course ends with a reflection session in which you share your experiences and receive valuable feedback. This is about consciously confronting your own limits and connecting with nature.

Your cold coaches – Who we are

We are all united by the joy and strength we have found in the cold and the passion to share this experience with others. All three of us are part of the cold network, and our expertise and experience will enable you to face the challenges of the ice bath safely and with strength:

Jeannette Stangier-Bors: Swiss vice world champion ice swimmer, uses ice swimming to relieve her chronic back pain and share her passion for cold water. In her book “Eiskalt Schwimmen”, she provides valuable insights into the world of ice swimming, from beginner knowledge to expert tips on how to deal with the cold safely.

Beni Imhof: As the initiator of the cold network, Beni uses the cold to strengthen the immune system and as a daily wellness routine. He brings experience from winter hikes in summer clothing and overnight stays in the great outdoors and shows how the cold can increase well-being.

Martin Rohner: Mental coach and certified cold coach, Martin combines breathing, meditation and cold to promote mental strength. Through targeted breathwork and mindfulness, he helps participants to find inner peace and consciously deal with the cold.
